At the beginning of 2026 your Penn State IT Staff Advisory Council hosted a series of Listening Sessions where we requested feedback around how the people of Penn State IT were feeling about various aspects of their job, and the culture. We then aggregated this data and prepared a report that we shared with Penn State IT Leadership. For transparency and accountability reasons, we are excited to share this report with you (it is also available on our Sharepoint site).

Attendees will gain an understanding of recommended EAD Group policy object (GPO) design leveraging Monolithic and Functional designs. A focus on troubleshooting and diagnosing group policy issues, long logon times and conflicting policies. Attendees should leave with a better understanding of group policies and how they can resolve long logon times.

This presentation introduces Prisma Browser from Palo Alto Networks and explains how a secure enterprise browser can help protect university users, data, and web-based applications. Attendees will learn how Prisma Browser applies security controls directly at the browser level to reduce phishing risk, prevent data leakage, and provide safer access to cloud and SaaS services used for teaching, research, and administration without having to install the GlobalProtect VPN client.

This presentation provides a practical, high-level overview of Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks and how our university defends critical systems, online learning platforms, and public-facing services against them. As-built diagrams are critical to recording what was built, the technical and security controls implemented, and for tracking drift and change of environments over time.
