It's no surprise that generative AI has arrived and is available to the masses; many industries have seen the value in integrating these technologies into their workflows, and higher education is no different. That said, change and trying new things is sometimes difficult for our industry -- often not for lack of desire, but usually because of adding one more thing to an already daunting to-do list. But that's the beauty in AI: not only can it free up time for higher-level functions by handling many rote tasks, but it can also help you take those creative functions to the next level.

Your presenters are not AI experts by any means, but we have used it successfully in several use cases in the past year:

  • using ChatGPT to create a full transcript from a caption track. Transcripts are required for podcasts and are separate from CCs and require more attention to grammar, punctuation, speaker transitions, etc.
  • drafting and grammar-checking emails
  • generative fill in Photoshop for basic photo resizing and touch-ups
  • explorations have begun into using AI to improve SEO (generate keywords, analyze content, analyze competitor's content/keywords)
