Bennett Ulmer is a business architect in the Office of the CIO at Penn State Information Technology. Since joining the University in 2014, he has earned a reputation as a driving force in change efforts across the organization. Bennett is known as a fixer and solution expert skilled in asking the right questions to clearly identify areas for organizational improvement. He works to successfully bring disparate interests together to move a business need from idea to execution by helping his clients navigate the change process in a highly complex business environment.
Prior to his role at Penn State, Bennett worked on organizational, process, and systems improvement efforts in the business systems outsourcing, corporate food services, and airline industries. His work portfolio has included crisis management planning, benefits systems implementation and administration, organizational restructuring, and other major changes and enhancements to business processes and systems.
Bennett holds a master’s degree in Workforce Education and Development (2008) as well as undergraduate degrees in French and International Politics (2003) from Penn State University. He lives in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania with his husband and daughter, their dog Frankie, and a bunch of chickens.
