This presentation will explore the integration of Meta Quest headsets into Kinesiology courses at Penn State Hazleton, highlighting their effectiveness in enhancing student engagement, skill development, and overall learning experiences. Using applications such as Les Mills and Golf+, students are leveraging virtual reality (VR) to immerse themselves in various physical activities that bridge the gap between traditional instruction and cutting-edge technology. In addition, we will discuss upcoming classes that will use a lifeguarding application developed by The American Red Cross. Outcomes we plan to achieve include, sharing best practices for implementing immersive tech in the classroom, providing information on opportunities available through CLI for incorporating immersive technology, and engaging in discussion and dialogue on the benefits and challenges of using immersive technology.
